Fabulous Fudge got its start when owners Wayne and Suzanne Meredith had a desire to live in a pine tree covered mountain community where the air is crisp and clean, and the water so pure you can taste the difference. They settled in a small town called Dunsmuir located at the base of beautiful Mt. Shasta in northern California

 

This small communityof 2000 people is home to the best water on earth. The water there is worth the trip alone as it comes from a natural spring above the town and is gravity fed to all the residence and businesses. It is estimated that their water has not seen the light of day in over two hundred years!

It is in this pristine environment and with this great water that they make the “Fabulous Fudge” with real butter and cream. All our flavors are taste tested locally and we haven’t found one that people didn’t like.
 
 
 

Fudge_slab3.jpgBefore 1886, the origin and history of fudge is unclear, but Fudge is thought to be an American invention. Most believe the first batch was a result of a accidental “fudged” batch of caramels, hence the name “fudge”.

 

In 1886, fudge was sold at a  Baltimore grocery, this is the first known sale of fudge. In Fudge_spinning.jpg1888, Miss Hartridge asked for the fudge recipe, and made 30 pounds of fudge for a Senior Auction. The recipe was very popular and caught on from that point forward.
